"What a sad dream! Hope your waking hours are happy! Glad I wasn't in the posse locking you up! But then again, I guess I wasn't there to rescue you."

Dream 8.25

Pretty much half my mental energy is being used to solve problems within my thesis play, and the other half is pretty content irrationally freaking out that I'll never be able to solve any of them/my work will be a complete and utter disaster/disappointment to everyone ever.

Last night I dreamt it was auditions, my director was using sides from an old play about covered wagons. He told me none of my pages were good enough.

My dad and sister picked me up and drove me to summer camp. They were being really nice to me. Too nice? When we arrived, it wasn't camp at all. It was an insane asylum.

Then I was in the house I grew up in. I knew it was a mistake. Because I somehow knew the landlord was going to trap me. My roommates were some shrimpy kid I had never met and Huntie. Huntie sang a song about his ex-girlfriend that was so sad and beautiful I cried for hours. Sitch was there visiting. He lifted up his shirt an exposed hundreds of cuts on his stomach. He told me he did them himself, and  before I could console him, our landlord found us. He was also my professor. I tried to talk to him about class, but he told me what I had hunched. The house was being turned into a concentration camp, and I was enslaved forever. I ran to the basement, but there was no escape. I tried to text Bisque goodbye with a blue emoji heart. There wasn't enough reception for it to send.

Great Things

Five Great Things

1. Man on the Moon--I am now minorly obsessed with Andy Kaufman and his comedy/art/life. This movie has been bumped into my top five of all time.
2. Studio 60. I am so sad I only have like three episodes left.
3. Yesterday Kay and I hang out pretty much all day, and we did almost nothing productive. Caught up on Hulu, had a dance party to the new Girl Talk album, ate things...It was SO relaxing. And no feelings of guilt squashed it either. I was never like, "I need to get X and Y done..." I think it helped that we also didn't spend any money. Not spending money increases my joy level by about sixty percent.
4. My dream was really stressful. I was at today's speech meet, but I had all these random things I had to do pertaining to making a fort out of garbage and recyclables. Plus, some kid got in serious trouble, and I was going to have to reprimand him. But, POOF I woke up! That is so nice.
5. I have convinced my sister to keep a "cookie box"--a box that always has fresh-baked cookies in it.

BONUS THING: BOBBY MOYNIHAN'S BLACK FRIDAY SKETCH FROM ANNE HATHAWAY'S EPISODE IS THE BEST SNL SKETCH OF THE YEAR. Really, the past two shows have been pretty good.

Dream: Sunday, August 15th

It was Christmastime. There were twinkle lights of red and green artfully hung in a kitchen with an island. I was in the kitchen. There was a living room attached. There were people of all ages in the living room. Kay was in the basement. The people were all there to celebrate being veterans. They were going to do some physical tests, and Kay was sad reminiscing about his wartime. I went to the basement to see how he was doing. He was quietly looking at his feet. I told him one day he wouldn't feel this way anymore. I went upstairs to make him an omelette, and the eggs were bloody. I tried to get it out, but it was everywhere.
